People are talking!

I am thankful.

It's been over a week since the official release of the book. A lot of you have received your order earlier than expected. Anneli from Greece made her quilt after she downloaded her copy and sent me this picture before the book was even out in U.S.!

You can imagine my surprise to see it done so fast!  It's everything free-form blocks stand for.. It's whimsical and free-spirited. Those bright red patches are ready to blow off the quilt.

With her permission, I am sharing what she thinks about the book and her process.

''I had bought your book as e-book and I love it! The only thing is that I have to order the book as paperback because your book is one of the books I want to have and "feel" it in my hands! It has so beautiful pictures and I think it is worth to have as a real book! It has very clear instructions and when I made the quilt the technique was wonderful! I felt so free not to use ruler! It is fun to the end. I hand-quilted it because I felt I wanted to make stitches which are as unordinary as the lines in the squares.''

Anneli Lehto-Koutsovitis.

Thank you Anneli for being so generous with your words.

Cultural Fusion Quilts was also reviewed on"IT'S BOOK REVIEW SATURDAY" by Mark Lipinski. He Really liked my book! Thanks, Mark Lipinski!

I made this quilt in past weeks while I awaited the release of my book. Since I decided to enter it in Quiltcon, I am afraid I can not reveal the whole quilt just yet.

Your emails are pouring in, I couldn't be thrilled. It may take me a little time to get back to all of you, but I will. I decided to start another blog to dedicate to all the quilts inspired by the book. I would like to invite all of you who would like to contribute your pictures, process and ideas that emerge from making the quilts from the book.
If you are interested, all you have to do is send me am email. I will send you the invite to join the blog - Cultural Fusion Quilts.

By the way, the cover quilt is back where it belongs. I had to take a picture just because I felt like it.

I also started hand quilting the zigzag quilt.

I was going to machine quilt this queen size quilt but one evening it got too cold. I had just finished my confetti quilt and was left with nothing to work on. Thankfully, it was already basted and ready to go. I picked it up and started stitching. Yes, another quilt is getting some stitch love.

Speaking of being thankful, thanks to all of you who have purchased the copy of my book and sent me exciting emails and messages on fb.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! I plan to do just that.
