I must be in the cleaning mood! Still using all those scraps from the scrap bins and looks like I am creating a monster! The scrap pile has gone down considerably and I am feeling pretty good about it! Now the question is, what to do with all those pieced strings?
Bowls?
Plates or something else?
All your ideas look great, but I am truly digging that last one!
ReplyDeletei`d go for the last one.
ReplyDeleteLast one it is! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYes! I also go for the wheel. But I like the baskets as well.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to have some patches left for experimenting! And there is always more where they came from!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you're having fun? You sure have a nice variety of fabrics! I like the circle, but I like the basket idea too..If you do something like that in the future..I hope you'll post it? :)
ReplyDeleteI like the baskets too. I have made ENOUGH patches.. trust me! I have been wanting to make these baskets for a while. I will post them as soon as few are ready!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, this project has turned in to a huge one! Hope to keep working on it!
i agree. spider web string quilt. they are so awesome!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! They are singing, right on the screen. I have to quit the computer and get to work. Sally
ReplyDeleteTrying to explain your magic to myself, in words, which is tough; I looked at enlargement of the wedge wheel. It seems you focus on using clear colors and avoid the grayed ones. You also use while, which I applaud. Sally
ReplyDeleteIncredibly creative and beautiful! I love all you create and you too!
ReplyDeleteBuffy,
ReplyDeleteI used all the strings I had in my bins and noticed one thing. I hardly use batiks in my quilts! I have used plenty gray and toned down colors but lately I seem to gravitate toward brights!
Use of white in my quilts come from the lesson learned while working with water colors. Keep the white space and the painting will be fresh.. Color everything and there will be no sunlight reflecting off the water or the flowers!
That has stuck with me through the years!
Happy quilting!
Love them all!
ReplyDeleteI really like this last one. How amazing the secondary pattern is. I love it. Will be keeping up with your progress on this one.
