Frustrated

So frustrated!
Has it been that long since I worked on the machine? It can't be!

I can't find anything in my sewing room. The wedding was fun, three weeks of vacation and all... there was a long break before that too. But that is no reason to loose everything in the sewing room.

All I want to do, is piece a backing for this quilt. Find a white thread for the backing (machine is loaded with  darker thread, which will not work) and baste this quilt. Is that really too much to ask?
I was so organized not too long ago.. I need some serious hours of getting back to sewing.

Focus... I need focus.. Hmmmm... need some stitch therapy... as soon as I find my glasses!

  1. I know that feeling. Usually things get better if I spend a little time poking around my sewing room with no specific expectations. :-)

  2. Isn't is funny how sometimes changing the thread in your sewing machine seems like a big job. Though it sounds like you've got a plan, now you just have to do it. Enjoy the purring of your sewing machine to soothe your soul.

  7. The top is wonderful!
I spend so much time spinning my wheels looking for that thing I just had. Just take a breath, it will show up -- along with one or two other things you were looking for.

  12. You'll be back in the swing of it in no time and it will feel so good. Perhaps you feel like reorganising your sewing room in the mean time...

    1. Thank you!
This is the first time I have deliberately placed the pieces in one of my confetti quilts. I like the way this one turned out but for me, it also took away the charm of spontaneity. I will do some non-deliberate hand stitching to remedy that.

  15. I know - it is so easy to feel "stuck" and disorganized in the sewing room after some time away - but some puttering around in there will do the trick. Meanwhile what a jewel-like beauty you have there - beautiful rich solids.

  18. Love this. I hate it when time starts to run away with you and before you know where you are, the year is half way through and you've hardly achieved anything.
