I know I have done really poor job on these pictures. It has been a crazy busy day but I could not resist taking new pictures of the quilt and posting them for those of you who wanted the close up of this quilt.
As I said earlier, the blocks are made of 25 two inch squares.
It's so fun to see someone else's quilt and go "I have that fabric and that one and that one!" Very nice.
ReplyDeleteWow Sujata! I have spent this entire day cutting out 2 inch squares out of scraps!!! Where did you get his design. It looks so interesting....are there three different squares and you alternate them?
ReplyDeleteLove it.
The colour play is great. Fassett's prints just come alive. Thanks for putting these photos up.
ReplyDeleteLove the colours - so rich and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! That's what I wanted to see, which fabrics together gave the beautiful jewel effect to your quilt. There were some surprises in there for me, ones that I would never have thought were in there. It is such a beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteDear Sujata Shah,
ReplyDeleteI like your ralli design. Ralli Quilts are the traditional textiles made by the folk women quilters of Pakistan and India. To know and learn about the ralli quilts get book written on the ralli quilts by Patricia Stoddard. Visit her sirte for more information www.ralliquilt.com
Another beautiful quilt!! I was just reading the above comment about Ralli quilts. So interesting!!
ReplyDeleteYou are a dear to post another just so we can see it up close and personal. It is an exquisite piece of art. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThe fabrics blend wonderfully and give a sparkly effect to the whole quilt. If I didn't know I would've never thought they all came from a box.
ReplyDeleteLove all these colorful variations on the "mosaic tiles". Kaffe's fabric is so rich in colors. I like how this quilt look both formal and very rich in colors at the same time. A great design, Sujata!

Your color selections are wonderful! You have sucha good I for color!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Each one of these blocks is a stunning composition. I'm sure I could look at this quilt for hours!
ReplyDeleteI'm in a slump! Heaven knows I have fabric!!! Now I need a creative kick in the backside to get back into to what I love. I have left-over blocks from the last Kaffe class and endless other unfinished blocks - some unfinished quilt tops even! Before I start something new I'd like to finish the UFO's but after awhile I'm sick of them. Maybe after the busyiness of Christmas is over I'll get a fresh start. You do lovely work, Sujata, and I miss you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful colorful quilt!
ReplyDeleteSo inspiring
